Description:

This class is an introduction to the various applications in the iLife ’09 Suite:

iPhoto , iMovie, GarageBand, & iWeb.


With guidance from the instructor, students will utilize specific online resources to access tutorials and other relevant information to assist them in learning to use these applications. Students who are self-motivated, independent learners and who are willing to share ideas and expertise with their peers will benefit most from this class. No previous computer expertise is necessary. However, those students who have experience will be asked to serve as “tech mentors”.


Goal: Students will become familiar with the basics of the iLife applications and use them to create a variety of projects. 


Applications:

  1. Bullet iPhoto – Learn some basics of good photography

  2. Bullet iMovie – Work with still photos & short video clips

  3. Bullet GarageBand – Create your own music or a podcast

  4. Bullet iWeb – Design & build a simple website


Requirements:

Students must bring the following items daily:

  1. Bullet Pencil & eraser

  2. Bullet 3-ring binder with one section labeled iLife

  3. Bullet Flash drive – for transfer of work between home & school


Expectations:

In order to guarantee that all the students in my class are able to take advantage of an excellent academic experience, I expect them to follow these rules. I believe that all of the students in my class can behave appropriately. However, I will not allow any student to interrupt what I am teaching or what others are learning.

  1. 1. Arrive on time and prepared for class.

  2. 2. Treat equipment and individuals with respect.

  3. 3. Give your very best effort on each assignment.

  4. 4. Adhere to copyright law and good digital citizenship.


Assignments and Grades:

There will be several short assignments. Students must complete ALL assignments and will earn letter grades in the areas of Achievement, Conduct, and Work Habits.
